Walking through the streets of Melbourne city I saw a lady wearing a tote bag with a large screen print on it's side:
"TAYLOR SWIFT - THE ERAS TOUR"
Here's the thing:
The design was cool.
But nothing special.
So it doesn't take a rocket scientist to realise that this lady wasn't wearing the bag because of it's design.
She was wearing it because of who it represented.
My point is this:
People buy more into fashion because of what a piece represents
than for the aesthetics of it's design.
Sell the message first
and the design features second.
