A superfan is a loyal customers + community.
A loyal customer without the community is flaky, and that's not very loyal at all.
And community without loyal customers is just an audience.
So you need both community and loyalty!
But why should you care about superfans?
Superfans are 4 things:
I don't have to write much more for you to see the business benefits of even one (let alone 4) of those things.
But I will write more.
Just a little...
It it because of superfans that Nike has gained their credibility in society
and for that same reason that a pair of shoes can sell for $1000's after market.
It's because of superfans that Supreme has a line down the street camping outside the store waiting for drop day.
And it's superfans that show up in the 100s on boxing day for a StreetX.
Here's the thing:
All of these examples lead us to one truth...
Superfans buy a brand before they buy a product.
So sell it in that order.
First your brand.
Second your product.
What is your brand?
The ideology, culture, or lifestyle behind the clothing. They key word being 'behind' (as in not the clothing itself).
See if this helps:
Make a post of something about your brand ideology without mentioning your product.
Don't include a store page link
Don't make the final carousel slide an advertisement.
Give value and value alone.
When your superfan sees it and says "this brand is for ME", you've done your job.
Truly,
Elijah
