The Wrong Questions

We aren't asking the right questions when it comes to social media.

The questions I hear sound like:

"What's going to go viral?"

"How do I make something that's seen?"

"What's trending today?"

And these things are important somewhere along the pipeline.

But I think there's a real issue when the question is:

"Will this get likes?"

Instead of:

"Will they like this?"

The difference is major.

The former is inward focused. And unfortunately, inward focused marketing tends to forget the very factor that determines a campaign's success - the customer.

See if this helps:

Market with empathy

and respect for the audience's time.

Truly,

Elijah
