Yes, I said members.
Not customers.
Because their brand acts less like a business
And more like a club.
So here’s my observations of the results of streetwear brands that cultivate communities in hopes it might lead you to do the same.
Add Value to the Brand
A pack mentality within communities means that if one buys there is a high likelihood of others doing the same. Higher demand means there is a greater perceived value. In other words, you can sell your product for a higher price and your business is more profitable.
Add Value to Your Customers
Since the beginning of ever humans have desired intimacy. The good news for your customers is that your garment becomes the entry ticket to the club - your community! Every time they wear your brand they embody all that it stands for along side the many other members.
Free Marketing
Community members are your biggest advocates. By cultivating a community with your streetwear brand you make it easy for your customers to invite others, or at least talk about you - Because word of mouth is the best kind of marketing.
Positive Social Change
We make more change together. The Big Idea embodied by your garments and advocated by your customers is more than an idea, it’s a vision for a positive future reality. In a community united by your brand, others are empowered to make a difference.
It comes down to this:
Streetwear brands that cultivate communities are more successful at:
1. Making more money
2. Making positive change and
3. Satisfying customers.
This sounds to me like the ultimate win-win.
Especial when
At the end of every day
You are fulfilled with the community you’ve united.
Truly,
Elijah
