The Instagram algorithm favours the posts that GIVE more value than others.
They measure a post's ability to give by the number of views and watch time.
And nearly every other social media algorithm works the same.
The posts that GIVE more value than the time they take to consume get boosted.
Think about the psychology of selling:
Any customer that has bought your t-shirt is because they believe the product GIVES them more value than what it costs to buy.
The value of the garment is > its cost.
In other words, the seller is GIVING more than they are taking.
Or even our economy as a whole:
If the world of business took more resources than it generated, we wouldn't have capitalist structures at all.
The reason it works is because businesses GIVE more than they take.
(At least that's how it should work).
My point is this:
Generosity REALLY IS the principal law of business.
And it isn't only the case for charities.
In fact, generosity as a principal is especially relevant in for-profit companies
and ESPECIALLY in the world of streetwear fashion.
I don't make the rules.
And when we come to accept its rules,
it changes the way we think and do everything.
It changes for the better.
