I've got a tough question for you...
Are you trying to win sales or customers?
Because the strategies are vastly different.
A SALE winning strategy looks like:
Marketing a product as the first thing a potential customer sees.
Offering discounts and sales.
Every effort must make a profit.
A 'me first' business mentality.
A CUSTOMER winning strategy looks like:
Marketing an idea instead of a product.
Understanding that customers don't buy the product, they buy the brand.
Efforts to increase customer satisfaction.
Adding value to customers as a priority.
My point is this:
Sales come and go.
Once the check out is complete
there's no guarantee for tomorrow.
A sales winning strategy can lead to dramatic income fluctuations and uncertain future predictions.
And sometimes it can take a streetwear brand to be stuck in the worst of the feast-famine cycle to realise that:
when a streetwear brand makes the shift to win customers instead of sales
they build a community that shows up on drop day
ultimately leading to the sales they wanted in the first place
in a predictable and accumulative way.
Changing one's mindset is a small shift that yields big results.
