Resource Allocation

I'm quickly learning that in business, one of the greatest skills one can develop is good resource allocation.

If I have 30 hours of time, where should I put it?

If I have $1,000 of change, where should I spend it?

All with purpose to receive a positive return on time/ money investment, of course.

Get this:

Nearly every allocation of every one of my resources is in content creation.

And you'd be surprised to know that it doesn't directly earn me money.

I don't sell ad space on this email.

I actively turn down podcast sponsorships.

This email is free for goodness sake!

And for most brand owners, the thought that they might invest time and money into content creation that isn't directly linked to selling garments is enough for them not to do it.

But here's the thing:

My content creation is everything.

My audience is my business.

YOU, reading this email, may never buy anything from me. But if the free stuff I put out to the world is good enough, I might just attract someone who will.

But I wouldn't have if it wasn't for the content.

My content IS everything.

And the same is true for your brand.

My point is this:

It may be difficult to justify resource allocation to content creation.

But I suggest you put your time and money where your customers are.

And if that is Instagram,

then content creation bloody well should be it.

Here to help,

Elijah
