I walked into a Dior store in my city not intending to buy anything, and the employees had no problem with it.
At the door they gave me a complimentary juice to drink and they stood on stand by, ready for my need at any moment.
Why were the employees so content with my presence, even though they were fully aware I wasn't going to buy?
They just wasted a juice on me, right?
Wrong.
Here's the thing:
Dior isn't working with a Per Sale Mindset.
They are not always fighting for the next sale.
Because they understand that a sale is... Just. One.
Instead they hold a Per Customer Mindset.
Their efforts are towards building relationships, not selling a product.
That's why a juice is no waste on me. Dior trusts that, although I walk out today, I will return another.
The best part is that their customers make up their sales.
And not just one sale, but many sales (i.e., loyal customers)
Be like Dior, where customers are over sales.
